SEASON 2026 FULL OF CONTRASTS
After a favorable spring start which permitted early sowing, the months of April and May presented low temperatures, cold nights and repeated rainfalls. These conditions strongly limited the roots activity and slowed down the crop’s development.
After mid-May, the sunny weather came back reactivating the vegetative development. But a heat wave starts now with temperatures over 35°C and the prediction says it will last for several days.
The late sowing crops, especially corn, sugar beets and potatoes are under risk in such conditions. Their rooting system is not yet enough established to face the growing needs in nutrients & water, while the moisture and superficial water reserves are not anymore available.
